Yeah I am.
I'm not sure why exactly this has to go here, but it is.

This is my story/rant/whatever...

I'm not sure exactly what TO do. I just have to tell you guys that I'm failing some classes in school right now. I've always had all A's and B's from 1st grade till 8th, but now...I'm sure what is happening.

Just 9th grade is killing me. It's too much. The expectations are too much. I've always been in honors classes (and I am this year). Somehow in the past, I could manage the time I spend on the computer (10-12 hours each weekday) and school.

But now I can't. As Vash has said:"The transition into high school is hard, but, really, if you think that you need to..."

Yeah mainly it has to do with the fact that I like Linkin Park and Fort Minor more than studying. It's not the homework, it's the studying. These honros classes have dang 2-4 tests each week and I can't manage it.

Teh Vashness: I think you should put the LP/FM stuff away, & stay away from the computer unless you have to use it, & in that situation, stay off of LPF, IM programs, & the like, & focus more on studying. Ya know? No one who is smart will hold you against it, they'll understand, & if they don't, then they're arrogant.

I had A's at the beginning of the year, but now I haven't studied in a WHILE (because I'm always online). In result, I'm failing a class or two and have at least 2 D's. This isn't acceptable from a family that expects 97+'s from you all the time. My family doesn't know about it yet, and my leave is because of the reason I need to bring my grades up. I need a good GPA.

Yes, so I am having to announce I won't be online nearly as much anymore.
This means I can't manage my LP Media like I do, offer as many downloads or any other things.

Worst of all, I can't continue being a lead newscaster here all the time. I'll try, but I doubt I'll post half as many articles as I usually do.

I haven't decided WHEN I'll come online but it'll be probably just the weekends. Yeah, that's sad :(

Damn you Linkin Park, school has finally caught up with us.
I've tried this before but now I'm getting my family to change my passwords to things I don't know so I can't login (except the weekends). Very tough decision :( I HATE, omg I HATE to say that school is more important than LP. It's the first and only time I'll probably ever say that. It's never been like this before. Hopefully I can straighten it out soon. As for LP and FM, I have Meteora and 5/6 of my bootlegs on my iPod so I can manage for a while. No I'm not resigning, just going away for a bit. So I doubt I'll be the first one to have the new FM single (Believe Me, I think), up for download.

Sorry. You can say "fuck you Hahninator" to this thread and decision or you can respect it. Your choice.

My first year of high school... SUCKED HORRIBLY!
THAT SAME THING HAPPEND TO ME!

I almost failed 2 classes... the bumbped my grades the few points I needed. I did fail one class [summer school was easy]. One class I did ok in and one I did EXTREMELY well [The teacher was stupid, the class was easy]. Mainly because I spent too much time on the internet and not enough time studying and doing homework. It is so true how they expect so much more from you in high school. I mean... Ive ALWAYS been in advanced/honors classes and done extremely well... until last year. It really started in middle school when I started to get a bit distracted, but high school killed everything.

This year Im only in 1 class with honors credit although I am in some of higer classes. Im doing ok, and like you, I am trying to stay off the computer more often and get the work done. Im doing ok now, but I really need to buckle down and get to work.

Although not as drastically, I am going to follow your lead and try to decrease my computer activity as much as it sucks. I will not have a repeat of last year. So to whoever is reading this... Ill definetly still be around, but not nearly as much as this summer.

Ugh... All bs aside, Thanks for opening my eyes Mark. We will miss your constant updates and media greatly. Hope to see you on weekends.

that almost happend 2 me, when eva i got on the computer to study or 2 look up sumthing i would always have another site up as well, like lpf and i never finished my hw untill the day b4 it was due and i just rushed everything,so i could keep looking up stuff on Lp or my other fav bands

hope you get your grades up. this happened to me too.. i have been in honors classes since third grade lol, and the transition from 8th grade to 9th bit me in the ass. in all my classes before highschool, it was easy, i didn't have to study, i didn't have to do homework, all i had to do was show up. and then.. they expected me to study lol. i didn't fail tho, not until my sophomore year cuz i still hadn't grasped that fact. but yeah, don't forget highschool is the most important part of education, college is important, yes, but the college you go to is determined by your highschool performance. dont' forget that, and good luck with the whole.. not doing your daily ritual.

Same thing happened to me last year. One site kept taking up my time so much that instead of getting straight A's, I was getting A's, B's, and C's. Hope you sort it out soon and, like everyone else said, good luck!

So all of you give up the computer for a while (maybe even a day as in my case) and go study then make good grades :D

I know exactly what you mean Mark. Except I think it's the transition to 8th grade here because the teachers at my school (at least my team) make it hard and as much like high school courses as possible (plus the fact that I'm taking a HS course but anyways). I probably should study more than I do, which would mean studying at all. We're coming up on 9 weeks testing next week (20% of grade) and I just hope I do'nt blow it. I'm already down from what I normally am (only by a couple of points). So good luck with your grades and studies.

Aww Mark. Good luck with all your schoolwork and I hope you catch up on all your grades and stuff. At least you're doing something about pulling them back up again, you're a really intelligent kid :) I was totally like you though, I use to make A's and stuff but my grades have been falling a little >.< Haha you're setting an example, maybe I need a lil break from the internet as well. Well of course LPF wouldn't be the same without you :( Your presence will definatly be missed. It'll definatly feel a bit empty in LP Central that's for sure. I'll do my best to get news up but I haven't been on here as much as I'd like to :|. Sucks eh! Well keep studying and all that stuff haha. It'll be worth it in the end!

yeah high schools a bitch. Ive always gotten good marks, but grade 9 kicked my ass. I failed math, so this year in grade 10 I hafta take a math prep class which is pretty much grade 9 math over again.
