Mike popped into the FM Forums recently to confirm the Europe tour and to update on him scoring the VMAs.

This is what Mike said, word for word.

feel free to direct other questions about the VMA thing to this thread (or not, hahaha)

as many of you have heard, i'm helping to score the MTV VMAs this year. it's very exciting. it's the first time they've done anything like this--usually the show relies entirely on the music from artists' albums.

this is not your traditional score, though. i made about 10 original short pieces of music for the show, and they will be popping up at various times. i actually don't know where they're being used yet. there are no vocals, just music--varying from rock to electronic to hip hop. i know there are rumors going around about debuting new FM songs -- i won't be performing at the VMAs. but as you have seen, i am starting to play some shows with the new material, so i hope you all can come down when we're near you...

I'm not so sure about Mike as solo. I think he needs Chester; just as much as Chester needs him. They all make up the sound of Linkin Park. Individually I'm sure it will just feel like a part of Linkin Park but not the whole 9 yards...if you know what I mean.

I think Eminem is (or was) a decent rapper when he first emerged. He made some cool songs, better than any of the other rappers could ever do. Now he's moving in the direction of all them big screen TVs, bitches, hoes and bling-bling....the very thing he once stood against. Fuck him. Anyway, [LINKIN PARK] all the way...

I agree 100 percent with waht you just said. I will still buy Fort Minor though.

I dont think they need eachother as much as you think, ofcourse it will be completely different, a foreign sound to you, but I think it definitly has the capabilities to be just as good, if not better than Linkin Park.

As long as he goes back to his roots, xero-style rhymes, then it will be the best album of 05.

That it was comming out sooner than they had previously expected and that they have written some lyris for it. And some other stuff, but thats all i remember right now

okay so is lp coming out w/ an album? hopefully they are but all those people who dont care about what Mike does with fort minor is bullshit cuz if you really love or like lp, you should support them who ever breaks off and does their own thing you should still support them but just dont reject him cuz he is pretty fucken brave to take a break from rock and actually take a chance in the rap industry even if he doesnt succeed (Even tho he totally will cuz he is awesome!!!) you should still support him he needs his fans even tho it wont be the same.
