I remember what hap happened. Linkin Park had just released Hybrid Theory, And i had kinda heard about Linkin Park before ( ya know, thje pre-release rumor stuff ya get.) But i really didn't know who THEY were yet. Well, when Hybrid Theory was released, one of me bro's friends bout the CD and then jake, (me bro) had him burn a copy. Well jake came home and listened to it and said, "god, this is music? What a waste of time." and then threw the CD away. (ya i know, this actually happened. Now when i think about that i smack him just for SAYING that, throwing the CD away..... he should have to be punished by us LP extremists.... ;)

Well when he had walked away i looked in the trash and dug up HT. Well when i stuck it in my CD player and the first song i heard was Papercut. I listened throught it the whole way through nd i was like, man... they arn't bad. Well i kept listening to the cd and the next three songs were ok, but when i got to CRAWLING I was like, ok, these are offiaially my men.

So to make it simple, Papercut got me interested, but Crawling was the song that really got me hooked.

for me it was crawling too, but not really completely hooked on LP. I first heard one step closer and the shut up part to me was kinda harsh, but then crawling came and iw as like kick ass then in the end and somewhere i belong. When i bought meteora, i hadnt listened to the radio, or seen the music video for somehwer, and so when i first bough thte CD, id idnt listen to somewhere that much beacuse i felt it was too overplayed, but then i gotinto it, and its one of my fave songs on the album, mainly cause they spent sooo much time on the chorus, and now, im hooked on papercut, ireally like the verses.

I think it was in Sept 2000, I was flipping through the stations. The batteries were dieing and finally stopped on Much Music. They were palying One Step Closer. My first thought was, another band trying to mirror the image of mystery and fear caused by cults and gangs. But then I noticed the people spying on the guys in the robes, that shut me up about the usual preconceptions I usually have about bands. Once I started listening the song just blew me away. Hybrid Theory was the first cd I ever bought.
