What happened?

Don't get me wrong I love Linkin park but it seems that some of the stuff that they are coming out with is based heavily on the rap genre. I myself loved their heavy stuff (Faint,Crawling,One Step Closer,etc.) I listen to them now and the beats are terrific but I still only hear rap.

Yeah well some songs I can listen to like Believe Me wasn't that bad my main concern was that ever since the album with jay-z they would go more into the rap genre.

I know what you mean I miss that old sound cause I'm the metal head
paert of linkin park and miss the metal all I hear is rap most the time it depresses me and another person fears rap will take over too
she doesn't really post but I PM her constantly not saying tho

Yeah I know but kinda seems like mike is taking it over and making the decisions for the band not talking bad about them or anything I love LP It's just that
I barely hear the metal but whatever the decisions I will follow cause Rap is startin to rub off on me only mikes rapping not the other ppls >:( just mikes hes a great rapper

and don't worry prime those songs are only fortminor not linkin park so I don't think any changeing will be going on just to let you know all those songs with mike is fort minor their not going to do anything without the bands decision first but if they have something like that hope they don't agree then Dry Cell will have to be my #1 fav Band since they sound the same

It sounds like you guys are talking about The Rising Tide, which has nothing to do with Linkin Park. That is Fort Minor. The only Linkin Park albums (I'm not going to count Reanimation) is Hybrid Theory and Meteora. So if you're talking about a song thats not on those albums, it's probably not really Linkin Park (asides from Hybrid Theory EP and some little side songs they've done). Linkin Park isn't going to straight of rap. Their new album will probably have a good mix of rapping and rock, just like HT and Meteora, with some new stuff. You guys are getting excited over nothing.

Okkkkkay lets get things straight

(1) Linkin was more of a rap band then metal band back in the HT days (EP)
(2) Reanimation was a remix album, remixes are dance or hip hop usualy what would u think would be more appropiate?
(3) MTV Called Jay-Z and asked who he would want to collab with, he choose Linkin Park and not visa versa.
(4) Fort Minor is not Linkin Park in the same way Gorrilaz isnt Blur

I hope that sorts things out for u :thumbsup:

Anyways they say the next album is gonna sound mor organic which means less glossy production often associated with Hip Hop
