It's happened already.

Some fans didn't like Reanimation because it wasn't a studio album, only remixes.
Some didn't like Meteora because it didn't sound like Hybrid Theory.
Some didn't like Live in Texas because it was released so close to Meteora and contained no new material.
Some didn't like Collision Course, for many reasons.

I'm sure there'll be plenty of people who aren't pleased with the new album, no matter what it sounds like.

I'll listen to the old stuff still. If I'm in the mood at least. I can't say I've listened to them in like the last 6-9 months. I won't have as high views of them as a band if they put out a piece of crap though.

Well, I have a lot of confidence in Linkin Park's next album. I didn't like Meteora at first because it didn't sound like Hybrid Theory, but after listening to it a couple more times, I started liking it more. Same with Reanimation, it was boring at first, but then it's cool after you listen to it again and again.

Reanimation was good one of the better remix albums the songs did sound fresh and those who stopped likeing and artist because they experiment is kind of shallow. I personally hate artists that tread the same ground all the time and never evolving.

I never said that it was my opinion, or any of those opinions were mine... Having been a fan for so long, I've read many posts on various message boards for years. When Meteora was first released, the overwhelming opinion (of the negative ones) was that it sounded nothing like Hybrid Theory. Now, that said, some of the tracks certainly would fit as HT version 2 - Don't Stay, Lying From You, Hit The Floor, etc. There's no way anyone could convince me that tracks like Nobody's Listening and Breaking the Habit would ever fit in that category.

I don't think it'll suck xD I have faith in them and even if it sucks (Which I'm hoping and crossing my fingers it won't), I'll still be a fan of them. I don't think a bad album can change that lol, as long as I still like their older songs, I'm cool.

The whole idea of the Linkin Park albums is that theyre, multi listen albums, obviously the first time you listen, your gonna go, wtf and such, coz u dont know the lyrics or know when the next rift is coming in, or if theres a surprise coming up. i personally cant wait, its been like nearly 3 years since LP released a true album, the other stuff(remixes and CC) were great, but personally id like to see them release albums and go touring with it =D...

seriously, meteora was a wicked follow up to Hybrid Theory, it was just as good if not better. LP is so good at the shit they do they gave me a whole new respect for Jay Z after collision course becos they even made him sound good...

Not true, someone stated that they will still like LP and merely just ignore the newest cd. But I mean seriously everyone is saying the same thing. "Oh LP can't make a sucky album!" They've only released 2 legit original albums. 2. Who are we to determaine after 2 albums that they really have the steam and creativity to continue making awesome albums. Seriously. He says it'll be in a style they've never done before. I hope that's good. If it sounds like Meteora, it won't make it far. I want an album thats heaver in style like Hybrid Theory. Chaz also said "but this album will be more vocally driven than any of our other ones. " That's pretty darn cool :D I'm looking forward to hearing his and Mike's vocals that they do. From the looks of it, they meet every week and put the songs together. Brad has a lot to do with the structuring :D If structuring has anything to do with what he did on the WYG remix, then by god put him in charge lmao
