My parents really can't stand LP or any of my music. Although.. my mom does like a few of LP songs.. she should since thats all she ever hears when shes around me :) . My friends wouldn't know who LP is if they didn't know me. They just know them for In the End... just like everybody else here. It sucks because when I go to their concerts.. my mom has to go :shock: . I can't get none of my friends to go and I even offered them to pay for their tickets..

Well, I got different friends who have different taste who have different opinions on LP.

1. My friend who is a Rap freak likes LP because of Mike. He doesn't really care for Chester, though he loves Faint which I say is about %50 of Chester singing.

2. My other friend who is a Metal freak is pretty "meh" to Linkin Park. He says they shouldn't be called "Metal Gods" and that they're kinda weak. But he doesn't really mind them.

3. My other friends, however, can't stand te sight or sound of LP. They think that they lyrics make no sense. Which shows thier extreme ignorance.

4. My parents really don't care what I listen to. Hell, it was my Dad who got me into LP. My Mom always uses my CD whenever she works out. Me and My Parents LOVE LP, though my Dad does say that thier lyrics are depressing. Meh. I don't care. Thier lyrics relate to alot of issues in my life and I use them as an outlet.

So I guess I'm pretty lucky to have folks who not only let me listen to 'em, but listens to them themselves.

When I got into Linkin Park, I started buying rock albums and put them in the CD player. i think i probly answered this thread earlier, but anyways, i feel like doing it again. basicly, my parents don't really have an opinion, i think. if they do, they like the band, bc the definatly don't hate lp. if they don't have an opinion, then it's just like with every other artist i listen to, they don't care, they trust me to listen to the music i like. and it is basicly wrong to pick your kid's music. basic human rights if you ask me. and i played faint for my aunt who's 40-something and she liked it despite the heavy guitars, speed and all that. she said she liked the melody. i was happy and shocked at the same time. but although my family doesn't oppose lp, teenagers here do, and lp is at the same place as creed, a hated band around here, that's really sad

Sometimes I blast really loud music like SOAD, LP or KoRn, with lots of screams and heavy riffs and stuff on the family computer which in the center of our apartment, and my mom doesn't say anything. She doesn't care what I listen to. She (and dad) may not like it, but they know I'm intelligent enough to choose my music. They also know that the music I listen to isn't going to make me murder someone. Banning a teenager from listening to the music he/she wants to listen to is a violation of a child's rights if you ask me. Unless it's Nazi music, Klan music or something like that that encourages racisme, the music doesn't matter. We're not stupid, even though we might listen to some artist that talks about getting high and so on, it's not that that leads us to drugs if we start doing drugs.
