A Kronik Review (You Guys Need It)

1.Intro -D 62%-
Why?:Well there isnt to much to it. The mixture of voices makes it sound cool but meh.
2.100 Degrees -A 93%-
Why?: Well, I've been heavily awaiting vocals to this beat. It was meant for it. It hot as hell it deserves and A. It has nice vocals no stupid shit. Typical Diss track for talking shit. Mike does it well so good one :thumbsup: Just the only problem is just that since its a mixtape the DJ always loves to spin it back and repeat stuff. And Talk over it. >.<
3. Dolla -A 90%-
Why?: Why not? A Definate Classic FM. Simple Beat which provides a steady platform for shit talking from the guys. Ryu's Verse got fucked up! It pissed me off becuase the Sampler version is flawless. But I wont penalize the score becuase of it.
4. Bloc Party -C 77%-
Why?: Well lyrics aren't that bad but the beat just doesn't provide a steady head bopping feel. It's kind of uncomfortable to jam to. Not that bad but not that good either. After a while you will find your self Liking it.
5. S.C.O.M. -C 70%-
Why?: Good lyrics, nicely worded and a good flow over the beat. But it just feels like a song. The classicaly remixed beat gets old quick. At first its sexy but like I said it gets old quick. It recieves a passing grade, but Juelz Santana. I didn't really like him from before, and his verse didn't change my view any more.
6. Remember The Name(Funkadelic Remix) -F 50%-
Why?: Ok if your asking me why, you are obviously a retard. The beat knocked this "100 Percent" earning song down halfway. The beat sucks like hell. Nothing more to it. The first one was so genious, and then we get this downgrade. Meh. Who the hell!
7. Bleach -C 73%-
Why?:The Beat Sounds like the song from eLvis that goes liek A little less conversation nah nah. It's alright. Bleach itself is a good song, just its not an all together well presented song.
8. Spray Paint and Ink Pens -B 86%-
Why?: Genoius Lyrics. I'll tell you straight up. I don't like GhostFace, but he pulls his weight on this track. At first I hated this track but it grew dramtically on me. I think its good. The beat is kind of boring, but I like it. It's a good song. Good one indeed. Mike definately shines in this song.
9. Petrified(Doors Remix) -C 70%-
Why?: The Doors? The Doors? ok, the beat isn't exactly good. But it sounds fair with the lyrics over it. It's alright. So meh, a seventy is fair enough. Not much to the words really.
10. Get It -A 97%-
Why?: Godly words spat into a sexy middle eastern beat equals good music. This is the best song I've heard from SOB. They really do good. They really did good with the lyrics and have a catchy ass beat. It's one of thoes songs that would bounce in the clubs if FM released it as a single. The hook is catchy and did you hear the ending? Where they put be somebody in it? That was my idea! :p Anyways it sounds good! Definate A for this track!
11. Be Somebody -B 89%-
Why?: Azem is angry. Why? Holly Brook got like no air time? You can hardly tell she sang! -_-. But besides that the song is purdy damn good! I just dont think it can get an A, becuase they screwed Holly over. Sorry guys.
12. Respect 4 Grandma -B 83%-
Why?: Good song. It's good words, and has an old school feel to it. Nothing much to comment about it. It's just a good song. I just don't like the answering machines voices. But like usual Mike is awesome with the words.
13. There They Go -A 95%-
Why?: This song is off the fucking chain! It deserves the 100 percent A but just when they switch beats to Mikes other verse beat it gets me. But the song is off the Gawd damn chain. All the words are filled with shit talking, and JayZ' transition When he sings over the 3 6 mafia song. I was like WHAT thats off the chain! So Yes, bes DL this as soon asap! :thumbsup:
14. All Night(Rush Mix) -D 69%-
Why?:Meh, nothing to special. I've herd way better. What's up with all these old school rock songs being turned into beats?
15. Nobody's Listening REMIX -B 84%-
Why?: Well, besides Jay'z off beat comments it's a pimp ass song. It's a little off beat, and the fact that its another old rock song beat gets on my nerves. NL was one of my fav, songs and its like a downgrade but hell good stuff. You might not like it. Plus, did I hear kanye West?
16. Cover and Duck -A 91%-
Why?: Get this take the guitars from OSC and put it over a hip hop beat and rap. What do you get? Cover and Duck. The remixed the guitars on OSC and got a pimped out beat. Great song. :thumbsup:
17. Remeber The Name -A 99%-
Why?: Great Lyrics, Great Beat, Great Concept, Great. :thumbsup:
18. Petrified -B 85%-
Why?: It's Good! Real Good!
19. Outro -C 70%-
Why?: Its better than the damn intro.

See, these songs will grow on you within time. I promise you. Well most of them, bu im basing my review off a potential buyers veiw, if they hear each song once what would their opinion be.

Azem u cant complain bout the number of sampled beats, for those of u that havent heard a mixtape before, they are mostly sampled from old rap and rock songs so its not out of the ordinary and I wouldnt call No One Knows old lol.

Anyways now from my point of view, the hip hop fan who dont follow most commercial rap :eek:

1.Intro 30%

Its pretty damn horrible lol lets face it..... It's too long, boring and really dont feel atall neccisary.

2. 100 Degrees 85%

The beat is good, scratching on track is pretty usless the lyrics are fair but not great and the chorus is fairly catchy.

3. Dolla 55%

Lyrically one of the best tracks, the flow is decent but the beat is boring straight up. The lyrics really deserved a better beat.

4. Bloc Party 70%

It has a good beat, again pointless editing by green lanten its not very memorable and the content of the rap is pretty poor. But overall it's pretty enjoyable.

5. S.C.O.M 78%

At first the beat is interesting and the sampled Sweet Child O' Myn is pretty cool and so is the vocals. The just isnt anything spectacular about this track.

6. Remember The Name (Funkadelic Remix) 55%

To say this track works well would be a lie, the chorus part is fine lets face it the bridges and verses are pretty poor, the beat just doesn't work with this!

7. Bleach Remix 60%

It flows well, its a nice pace but I wouldn't say it was a very good track its not very memorable but to say it was painful would be a massive lie too.

8. Spray Paint and Ink Pens 90%

The beat on this is good, i dont see what Azems problem with it is maybe its not pop enough *jk*. It works very well its perfect for the lyrics, which by the way are very strong on this track. Deffinatly one of the highlights of the mixtape.

9. Petrified (Doors Remix) 25%

Something about this reminds me of casultie (please comment british peoples) but the beat sucks ass. Its a pop tune lets face it, hell its worse its pop techno *Bites tounge* it dont work with the lyrics and again pointless scratching.

10. Get It 40%

Not very interesting...... nuff said. Did I mention it reminds me of crap G-Unit would release?

11. Be Somebody 65%

Could of been better feel. It's decent but the beat is pretty plain and this track would be easily skippable in the CD player. Lyrically its fairly good.

12. Respect For Grandma 65%

I never ever remember this track lol its one of those that just play and u forget it. The beat is average, it wants to be more then it is but it isnt. The chorus interludge is pretty decent. The beat workd for Mike more then SOB.

13. There They Go (green mix) 89%

Easily one of the best tracks, its high energy has a good hook the beat is one to turn up and go crazy over. The changes in beat are cool though it does at times feel a lil messey. Sixx John is the shitz, reminds me of Jay Z

14. All Night (Rush) 45%

I dont know it reminds me of cheesey rock which i dont like lol.

15. Nobodys Listening (Evil Genius Remix) 80%

Very good for the most part, the flow is a lil off and the we major was pretty damn pointless lol. Other then that i love the track and the effect on chesters vocals are petty cool if not a lil annoying.

16. Cover and Duck 60%

The chorus and intro are awesome but u get the feeling this could of been a way better rock rap track then it actually is *also points out more pointless tampering by the green man*.

17. Remember The Name 90%

U all know my opinion on this song, its awesome :)

18. Petrified 86%

A shade worse then Remember The Name but I can listen to it more then RTN as its got more energy to it. And I like energy

19. Outro 45%

Not great as they just sample the hell out of We Major which was one of the worst tracks on Late Registration btw lol.

Stenners- I think Azem feels like me in the fact that, we dont care about sampled beats, thats what they always use.... but that fact that for SO MANY of the sampled songs, were old school rock songs. It gets a bit old. And for a few, they probably would have been better off with your basic hip hop samples. :p

Anyways... Threre They Go... 95%... best track on there... :thumbsup:

and as for the sampled beats im sticking to what i said. I mean they could have at least used a diffrent song(like how Lil Jon used the Crazy Train for the beat-the beat kicked ass-) And yeah mixtapes use recycled beats mainly but why didnt they use like other rap beats? Plus, My view isnt based on a down right is this cd good or not, its based ona a would people really request this song status. Am I going to catch my basketball teammates asking the guy who plays the music to blast S.C.O.M. The answer is no.

Get it is no where near a G Unit track. The lyrics are way better. Plus Gunit doesnt suck nor are they the best(no thanks to 50)

Actually thier desician doesn't matter. Mike can do whatever he wants, and if wants to use an Old Guns N' Roses song as one of the beats on his mixtape, then so be it, and stop acting like little kids. Enjoy it, or don't enjoy it, there's no reason to bitch about Mike use samples from older rock songs. He made it work in my opinion, and its his fucking songs anyway, so whats the difference.
(This mostly reflects the fact that you guys are going back and forth arguing)

I think reveiws are pointless, because they usually reflect the opinions of the reveiwer, which of course will differ greatly depending on the person. However, in terms of a reveiw, Azem did pretty well, even if I don't entire agree with it.

Well yeah thats why i said it was biased, i just dont think it was a smart move. Mixtapes are supposed to be there to kind of get ppl to know the music. I always have friends trying to sell music. If your trying to sell a mixtape its becuase your trying to get your music out. Now unless the Rising Tide has the same type of old school rock samples on the majority of the tracks then that wasnt a good idea to put them maybe one or two, but it really gives ppl a false idea of what their getting. If i were to buy an LP mistape and all it had were songs that sounded like coldplay then i wouldnt buy it becuase id be afraid that the whole cd would sond like that.

Thoes songs i rated badly(some of them) sounded good when you listened to it after a while but alot of people dont listen to it until it grows on them they give it like 3 chances and then leave it in the back of their CD rack

To be honest, I think the one bad thing about their songs is that they repeat a LOT. In every song they repeat a certain line like 3 times before it continues. It doesn't bother me, but I mean..know when it's too much.

What's funny too, is that Mike says "Mike" a lot. hehe...he either loves his name a shitload or he's just advertising FM :)
